Monet is a nine year old missionary. Last month, her and her mom, Sunni, moved to Southeast Roanoke to be closer to the people that Jesus has burdened their hearts for. Sunni took the opportunity to do a little interview with her daughter about the move. Here is that interview!
Why are we moving to SE?
I want to move down to SE to teach the kids at Indian Village about God…
What feelings do you have about moving to SE?
I’m a little sad about leaving my friends, but other than that, I’m completely surprised we actually got a house right next to the Laughinghouses. When we first were looking at the house, Levi (5 yrs. old) said, “every day after you finish your homework, I’m coming over!”
What are you looking forward to the most about living in SE?
Being able to hang out more with the kids from Indian Village. I’m also looking forward to having lots of parties at the Laughinghouse’s!
Are you scared or worried about anything?
I’m a little scared about having to meet new friends and having to go to another school without knowing anybody, but I know for a fact that God will help me find someone.
Are you a missionary?
I myself think I have just started, but I do think with a little help from Jon, I could be a great one! I’d like to be able to go to a lot of different countries.
What does a missionary do in SE?
To me a missionary is someone who spreads the word of the Lord, someone who puts God in front of them and does what God says even when it’s something you really don’t want to do. …a lot like Jonah and the whale!
There are no age restrictions when it comes to being on the mission that Jesus has called us to. He can use anybody who has a willing heart!
You are young, but don’t let anyone treat you as if you are not important. Be an example to show the believers how they should live. Show them by what you say, by the way you live, by your love, by your faith, and by your pure life. I Timothy 4:12 (Easy-to-Read Version)
